(Scroll to the bottom of the page for my email address). Thanks for visiting my new food blog site! I’m Rian, owner of several sites including ChickLitBooks.com, SpiritualGal.com, TheSkinnyWebsite.com, ObsessedWithSims.com and many others. This blog will discuss and document my journey to an eventual 95% vegan organic diet. Currently (as of July 2011), I am eating a mostly-organic pescetarian diet. I’m currently overweight and working my way down to a healthy size. My general goal is between 120-130 pounds at 5’5. I’m very small-boned so this will probably translate into a size 2.
Please see this page to read about the diet plan I’ve been intuitively guided to follow (and am currently working my way to).
I’ll be documenting my gradual process towards a mostly vegan diet (with a little fish and honey from time to time). I’ve tried many, many times to just switch overnight, and it has never (as of yet) worked. I’ve struggled with addictions to high fat and sodium foods for the past five or so years. I also struggled with alcohol abuse for those years. However, I’ve prayed for and received healing in those areas.
I am working at adopting a much more positive way to look at eating – to see it as a means of being healthy, vibrant and nourished. When looking to ‘cut things out’ of my diet, it usually fails because I feel deprived. So instead, I am working at seeing my gradual dietary changes as doing my body, mind and spirit a world of good. I visualize myself filling up on fresh fruits, delicious and nutritious vegetables and nourishing grains with occasional fish.
The above paragraph may sound a bit hypocritical, given some of my recent posts about ‘cutting out’ dairy and caffeine, which is why I wrote ‘working at adopting’, because it’s still technically a work in progress!
Thanks for visiting, and come back often!

Hello!
Love reading The Skinny Website… and this website will now feed another passion of mine… FOOD! I like that this blog is more personal than The Skinny Website
Rian congradulations on your 73 days!
That is awesome. I admire your strength and fortitude you are a real power of example!
Rian I adore this blog as well as the other savy ones you author. However..I wish you did not have domin0′s as one of your advertisers. I am on your team for HEALTHFUL eating and Body image.
And I understand this company may be a Sponsor of yours. But it really interupts the message you are relaying to your readers.
Believe me I am not criticizing and maybe i wish for the utopic msg you seem to aspire to. But I understand business a bit.
You do not have to do anything about it today or ever. I am explaining my thoughts to you.
I hope I did not offend you. I am just making an observation.
xo erika
a faithful reader since 2006
Hey Erika, it is a google ad so they are not actually an official sponsor of the site.
If you refresh the page there should be a different ad running. Thanks for the kind comment!
rian;
i was worried i was going to offend you about my comment. i had no idea google can run an ad.
and i will refresh my screen so i don’t get distracted.
thank you
erika
Yea for a picture!
And two thumbs up to “I am working at adopting a much more positive way to look at eating – to see it as a means of being healthy, vibrant and nourished.”
i miss the skinny website so much!good luck..
Thanks Daria! I miss it occasionally myself.
Why wont you come back? Or give it to someone else? I really miss it:P
Hi Rian! I found my way here from theskinnywebsite.com. Glad to see you’re in a better place and still blogging.
As someone who has struggled with her own food addictions – and overcome them – I found it helpful to remind myself that not eating the chocolate made me feel deprived of chocolate, however eating the chocolate deprived me of inner peace. So which is more important – scratching an itch that will come back (eating the chocolate), or being peaceful enough that you don’t have the itch (the chocolate) in the first place?
I also have no doubt that the diet, food, and healthcare industries are all in bed together; they perpetuate one another. We are in an endless cycle of dieting and getting sick because of eating addictive, processed food; you know about food additives because you’ve gone organic, which is commendable.
Just sharing my thoughts. Once again, glad to see you’re on a good path and blogging.
Take care, be well.
Thanks Christine!
Hi Rian,
I love this site so much.
Your a total inspiration. Just remember beauty comes from within.
Although we are always on the quest for “perfection” one must know their limits. Its amazing that you are promoting healthy living and a balanced lifestyle.
Will recommend this blog to all of my friends.
P.S how come you don’t update “The Skinny Website” anymore?
Thanks,
Eva
xx
I miss the skinnywebsite so much, but I am SO glad it’s gone. Does that make sense? LOL. I am new to this blog but I am enjoying it a lot. Thanks.
Hi Allison, it does make sense and I kind of feel the same.
