Stuff I’ve Eaten & An Experiment

Here are some things I’ve eaten in the past 24 hours…

  • Mixed steamed veggies
  • Kashi Indigo Morning cereal with organic blueberries
  • So Delicious Minis Neapolitan
  • Siggi’s Icelandic Yogurt

…and some other things not pictured or listed above.

The experiment I’m doing involves eating something, then waiting for a while to see how my body responds and feels afterward. This was yet another piece of intuitive advice I received spiritually. In the past couple of days I’ve noticed my body going through a kind of cleansing and healing process, and I’m becoming very sensitive to certain foods. (The funniest thing is that several spiritual friends and acquaintances in my life are going through similar issues, even people I don’t talk about diet all that often to! I also keep coming across people who have felt led recently to go vegetarian, vegan, and/or organic. Interesting – there is definitely some kind of global shift going on.) I’ve come to the realization that I don’t have to fret and worry so much about eventually switching over to my ‘mostly vegan’ diet or force things, because my body is letting me know – now that I’m paying attention to it – what it prefers and what it doesn’t.

So far, I’ve reacted negatively to the Siggi’s yogurt and the cup of Keurig coffee I had this morning, which caused an unpleasant sinus drainage down the back of my throat. I’ve noticed this many times before with both food/drink items but usually ignore it. Also, I had a cup of dark chocolate almond milk that caused my body to feel very anxious. So far, the foods that have caused no issues have been fruit, veggies, oatmeal, fish and cereal. I’m going to keep experimenting!

I have already been advised countless times as to what my diet should be (due to raising my spiritual vibrations higher and higher for healing and mediumship/communication purposes), but this experiment is really helping me see the effects of certain foods.

Anyway, tonight is my metaphysical class, and I have a book report paper to finish, so I better get going. I’ll keep updating on this experiment!

Vegan Food Keeps Me Cool & Calm

For some reason, when I eat at least 95% vegan on any given day, I can keep my air conditioning at a higher temp and tolerate heat MUCH better than when I eat meat and/or animal products. As a matter of fact, when I was eating foods like chicken, cottage cheese and yogurt (for a few days) last week, my face would become flushed for no apparent reason at random times during the day and evening. I’ve realized that my body really does not like animal products anymore. Two nights during that short ‘high-protein’ experiment I also had what felt like panic attacks when trying to get to sleep. Not good.

So anyway, moving on… yesterday I ate about 98% vegan. At one point I opened up one of the Arctic Zero ice-creams I’d bought the other day and had a spoonful, forgetting it was made from whey. Oops. I had a spoonful and nearly gagged, it turns out I do not like the Cookies N Cream flavor because it tastes like pure chemicals, so I ended up throwing it out.

Anyway, I intend to do the same today, stick to plant foods and such.

My metaphysics class last night was amazing as usual, and I didn’t get home until almost midnight. I had one of these after getting home:

Annie Chuns Sesame Seaweed Snacks

This morning I woke up with a hankering for flax oatmeal, so that is what I had, along with a yummy organic peach:

As you can tell, I love Nature’s Path cereals and oatmeal, most of them (if not all) are vegan, natural and delicious.

Anyway, it’s Friday… TGIF!!

By the way, a good friend and I started a brand new website/forum. Right now it’s mostly empty (because it’s brand new). So if you are even remotely interested in spiritual stuff, head over there and sign up and start chatting! http://wearevaluable.com/forum/forum.php.

Chocolate Overload & Snacks

Today I was craving some extra chocolate (I won’t get into details about why, but I’m sure the ladies out there can figure it out!) so I had some of this:

Delicious, and vegan of course!

These are raw vegan, and I had a chocolate raw almond butter flavored one. I only ate about 1/3rd of it though because it was super-rich and filling.

Along with that, I had a raw pumpkin seed/brazil nut butter & honey sandwich on low sodium Ezekial bread, an organic Braeburn apple (that was unfortunately mushy), a lemon flavored soy yogurt, and one of the hemp ice-cream bars I bought yesterday.

Will update more later, as I’m leaving here shortly to pick up a classmate and head to my metaphysics class!

Swiss Cheese Wrap & Green Apple

I’ve concocted some strange but tasty low calorie snacks over the years… here is a favorite that I had this afternoon:

  • One green organic granny smith apple
  • Two wraps made with La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat wraps and Laughing Cow Light Swiss cheese, one each per wrap.

For other cheese lovers like myself, these wraps are super low calorie (85 calories each!) and they are delicious and very easy to make. Simply spread a cheese triangle on a wrap, roll up, and enjoy! (Heat if you’d like, I personally don’t).

Today I’m trying to eat as much fruit as possible and so far I’m up to 4 servings: 1 plum, 1 peach, 1 apple, and 1 mini banana.

My dinner tonight will probably be a Boca burger on a sprouted wheat bun with broccoli on the side. If I remember to, I’ll grab a photo and post it later!
